My Appeal for Local Brother in Need
Donation protected
As-Salaam Alaykum all,
My name is Abdirahman and I am a muslim brother from the borough of Lewisham, London. There are many brothers (and sisters) who come to our local mosque who suffer silently with financial issues but do not go around asking others for help. Only those who know them well will know what they are going through.
One such brother who I have known for the last 7-8 months has approached me requesting support. He comes from Nigeria and is currently studying a degree in London. The issue is he does not have family here that supports him and cannot find work that gives him money. As a result, he is struggling to pay his tuition fees and cannot get even afford essential clothing.
He is required to pay off these fees before the end of the year and if he does not, he may not be able to complete his degree. Some of the clothing that has been given to him is through (Allaah first) and then others handing him it out of their generosity. Every donation will be able to pay off those fees and bills and to make sure he is able to feed and clothe himself throughout his time at this University
As Allaah says, "The believers are nothing else than brothers" (49:10). So as brothers we should be supporting each other in times of need and distress.
As our Prophet (peace be upon him) also stated " Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the Hereafter." (Sahih Muslim). This is not an opportunity to help a brother out but it is to also save yourself on the Day of Judgement where they will be many trials and difficulties.
Every donation will help in supporting him and getting him through this tough time.
I will conclude this with the words of Allaah "Verily, those who give Sadaqât (i.e. Zakât and alms), men and women, and lend Allâh a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honourable good reward (i.e. Paradise)."(57:18) I ask Allaah to make all of you fall under this ayah.
