My name is Asha Gobana, I currently reside in Seattle, Washington and I am of Oromo background. I created this gofundme to help a friend in this dire time. Abdinasir Korsa (Walabumma) is a freelance journalist who is currently being held by Swedish authorities and is facing deportation. He is a loving father of four beautiful children and is a dedicated journalist who has been very vocal about and critical of the Ethiopian government's human rights violation and policies. For these reasons, he has now become a target and threatened by Ethiopian authorities. Numerous journalists have been tortured and murdered back in Ethiopia which makes it a highly unsafe place to be for a man in this line of work.

Abdinasir deserves to be in a place that keeps him safe and able to provide for his family, especially in times like these. I urge you all to help us raise these funds so we can get him the legal help he needs which includes hiring a lawyer and all legal fees that need to be covered.
