abcd (After Breast Cancer Diagnosis)

Hi, my name is Jacqui and I’m raising funds for abcdiagnosis. I attended the retreat last year.

On Saturday 3rd May 2025 there will be a group of us doing the "abcd 3 Peaks of Saddleworth Challenge" and we will be completing this in around 8 hours. We are raising money to support the After Breast Cancer Diagnosis motivational exercise retreats, a weekend experience for breast cancer patients.

Many of the group members have had primary breast cancer or living with incurable metastatic (secondary) breast cancer like Jo tbe Founder and myself. Most of the fund raisers will have attended one of the abcd motivational exercise retreats at some time in the last 8 years and this is their way of giving something back to these amazing weekends that everyone finds supportive and beneficial.

It is a planned walk that is growing year on year, and this year not only will we have previous people who have attended the retreats but others supporting like Maysand building conservation and preservation company. Jo’s husband works for them and they have kindly chosen abcd as one of their charities to support again this year.

Jo has been living with incurable breast cancer for over 11 years, and she is one of the lucky ones. A number of the previous retreat attendees have died of this terrible disease and we will also be remembering them and reading out their names on the last summit.
