Donation protected
Family, friends, and colleagues,
On Thursday, June 1st, our friend Abby lost her condominium and her possessions to a 7 alarm fire in Reading, MA. Fortunately, Abby and her son Jake made it out of the complex without injury. Like all of you, we are incredibly grateful for their safety. In addition to losing all of their belongings, Abby and Jake are unable to locate one of their beloved cats and the other remains hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning.
Abby works as a labor and delivery nurse at Boston Medical Center caring for the city's most vulnerable population of women. The resilient and optimistic attitude Abby conveys in our work environment continues to inspire us all, especially over the last couple of days as she faces this devastating loss of her own.
It is our hope that this fundraising page will not only help to offset any costs that will accrue as a result of this frightening event, but will serve as a source of encouragement and well wishes during this extremely stressful time. In doing so, we are hopeful that Abby and her family will recognize that their support system extends far beyond their immediate family and close friends. Please know that even the smallest contribution is much appreciated. In addition, if there are individuals within your network who are interested in contributing, please feel free to forward this link.
Thank you & take good care,
Abby’s Boston Medical Center L&D Family
