Abby’s unexpected vet bill

Hello everyone! After a very exhausting shift working as an ED nurse, I came home at about 3 AM, Saturday March 2nd, to blood all over my floor from my cat Abby throwing up blood. So of course I did what any good pet mom would do and rushed her to an emergency vet. Abby has spent five days in the vet most of which was in the ICU. She required extensive bloodwork, as well as an upper and lower endoscopy. They found she has an ulcer in her stomach, which is what blood was from. She has thickening in her small intestines, which is possibly caused by inflammatory bowel disease or gastrointestinal neoplasia. She also had benign changes in her liver and kidney mineralization. (I am attaching photos of the document because it is very long very medical and you would be reading for ages.) she was also sent home on five different medication‘s, which she will need around the clock, and I have had to hire someone to come in and administer those while I work my 12 hour shifts.
While I was able to establish CareCredit, I did have to increase my spending limit three times to a total of $12,000. The final Vet bill for Abby is $10,775.62. The vet also has a financial assistance program which I have applied to which only would cover at most $1000.
I have had Abby for 14 years she has been with me through all of my ups and downs, multiple moves, and I am very grateful she was able to come home. I understand that the amount I’m asking for to some maybe considered astronomical, but I would not change any course of care that I made. Any help is deeply appreciated by myself and Abby.
