Abby's Journey to Independence: Accessible Van
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Abby, and I’m 20 years old, living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Despite the challenges that come with SMA, I’ve always pushed myself to live as independently and fully as possible. I'm currently a college student pursuing a degree in psychology, and I’m passionate about using my experiences to help others.
Recently, I accomplished something huge, I learned how to drive using an adapted car! For the first time, I got a real taste of the freedom that comes with being able to drive myself. But now, I’m working toward the next big step: purchasing a van that I can adapt for my needs so I can drive on my own, safely and comfortably.
An accessible van would mean so much more than just transportation. It would give me independence, the ability to get to school, go to appointments, run errands, and just live life without having to rely on others for rides. It would be a massive step forward in my journey toward independence and adulthood.
