This page is dedicated to raising funds and support for Abby. Many of you know her personally (lucky you :) ) and if you don't, here is the quick story of how we came to create a page like this.
About three years ago, Abby started feeling some unusual pains and sensations in her body. Through quite a journey with multiple doctors and tests, she was ultimately diagnosed with Lyme disease. We have been learning about this disease ever since that diagnosis.
Ever since that diagnosis, Abby has been trying a little bit of everything to help herself and help her body heal itself. This ranges wildly from SOT (blood transfusion therapy), consultations with doctors, to a never-ending amount of supplements and tinctures. Abby has been doing her best to keep up with the long list of daily routines and rituals aimed at helping her on this healing process.
Unfortunately, the process and procedures haven't helped the way she hoped. And in some cases, actually made things worse.
Abby has continued to experience daily symptoms of things like uncontrollable fatigue, weakening of muscles, pain, and swelling. These symptoms have only gotten worse and impact Abby's ability to show up for herself, her family, and friends. To say it's a struggle would be a massive understatement.
In case you don't know Abby and our family (Andrew, Tripp, and Ezra), our faith is the most important part of our lives. We rely on our personal relationships with God to help us navigate the challenges we face. We have continued to pray that God would show us the next steps to take, the path He wants them to walk on. And through this prayer time, we were recently introduced to a family with a very similar story to ours. Lyme disease had impacted this family in unbelievable ways and they shared the process and treatment that made all the difference.
We learned about a specific treatment that is performed at a few hospitals and medical facilities around the world. This treatment has a great history and success rate, helping so many people find freedom and healing from their disease.
After meeting this couple and talking about their journey and experience battling Lyme disease, we felt like God was leading us to walk through the door and find out for ourselves what this treatment could mean for Abby and our family.
Over the past few weeks, we have had consultations, meetings with the medical team, and researched every part of the treatment plan that was being proposed. And through it all, Abby has found people who are just like her, that have been given their lives back.
This treatment and plan have given us so much hope. Hope that Abby can heal and get her life back. Hope that the symptoms and complications she navigates every day can go away. Hope that Abby can feel herself again.
AND... that's where we are now. We have committed to this treatment, this plan, and that's why we created this page. Although we believe in the outcome and trust God with the process, it doesn't take away the cost financially. Keeping this transparent, the cost for treatment and recovery is significant.
Below is some insight into what these funds would help support:
- This treatment facility is located out of the country
- Abby will be traveling to this facility and spending 2-3 weeks living on site receiving treatments daily
- This also covers support and care for Andrew and the boys while Abby is gone (help with boys, food, therapy etc.)
We have prayed together and agreed to let friends and family join us in this process. To let those close to us come together to support Abby both emotionally and financially.
So regardless of your ability to contribute financially, we ask that you keep Abby & our family in your prayers, we appreciate the time you have taken to look at this page. We are so thankful for your love and friendship in our lives!
