Hi everyone,

My name is Madison and I am the sister of Abby Cunningham. On March 1st, my sweet sister was diagnosed with Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma. To combat this, she will have to undergo a total hysterectomy which includes removal of her uterus, fallopian tubes, and cervix. Abby’s oncologist is hopeful that she will be able to keep her ovaries and not have to undergo chemotherapy- that being said, he will only know if her ovaries are viable and chemotherapy is not needed once they are in surgery and he is able to look at her ovaries and biopsy her lymph nodes.

Your gracious donations will go towards supporting Abby while she recovers from the hysterectomy on April 10th. It is unknown how long Abby will be out of work and what the recovery process will look like after her hysterectomy. To ease the burden of her finances while she’s not working, I am hoping to raise enough for her to take as much time as she needs to heal, go to doctor appointments, and take care of her mental health.

Your donations will also support Abby through her fertility journey. Since she will be unable to carry a baby on her own, she will have to undergo an egg retrieval/freezing process (medications, procedure, yearly storage of her eggs), so she is able to save her eggs for when she is ready to have a baby of her own. It is extremely important that Abby starts this process as soon as she can after her hysterectomy because it is not completely safe for her to have her ovaries indefinitely. In the future, she will also have to deal with the cost of surrogacy.

Abby is a bright, loving, and happy 22 year old that has always had big dreams. Her deep love for animals is what motivates her to get up and serve her patients every day (she’s a veterinarian tech). Abby loves Harry Potter, her cats Ruby and Mabel, board games, and her family.

While this news is unexpected and definitely not ideal, our family is leaning on our Savior, Jesus and trusting that His plan is for good and to ultimately make Abby whole. Please pray for strength for our family, wisdom for Abby’s team of doctors, and healing over her body.
