Abby Rose live independently

UPDATE: We are so excited to report that Abby has moved into her new apartment with her new roommate! Her part-time job is going well and she has been reunited with her dogs! This GoFundMe covered the girls' initial security deposit & final month's rent. Thank you!! Abby's roommate has found a part-time job as well and they are getting ready to pay their first month's rent at the end of August on their own! They aren't sure how much utilities will be yet but are trying to find low-cost internet access through Comcast or a government program. One concern Abby has now is trying to secure enough money ($1200) to cover one month's rent if either she or her roommate loses their jobs or has a medical emergency. If anyone would like to help, she will be trying to secure that amount in a savings account. Also, if anyone is nearby Cherry Hill/Philly and has blackout curtains, pet bowls, two bar height stools, a grocery trolley, under-bed storage, or a smallish low dresser, please check in with me -- I can get them to her!

Hey family and friends -- as many of you know, our family has been supporting Abby Rose since October 2021. Abby is a teenager who does not have family support. She has been unhoused since she was 17. She has some significant mental health challenges which have made it hard for her to navigate independent living. So, she has been staying with us as we have worked with her to get her ID, health care, and services. Happily, Abby has found a roommate and an affordable apartment in Philadelphia and is now ready to try living independently! She will work part-time near her apartment and will hopefully be able to cover her own expenses. The lease requires an application fee and first and last month's rent and utilities before she can move in. This is a significant amount of cash for her to come up with, as her portion totals around $1800. We are asking for any support to contribute toward this initial payment.
