My name is Kirk, and I’ve spent my life working with my hands. As a carpenter, I’m used to putting in long, physically demanding hours to build things that last and to provide for my family. But right now, I am facing a structural crisis I cannot fix with hard work alone, and I am stepping far out of my comfort zone to ask for your help.

​My incredible wife, Abby, is battling Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS). This disease is relentless, and her medical needs are growing by the day. Up until now, we have been scraping by, but we have hit a terrifying wall: her medical benefits are running out.

​I work as hard as I possibly can, but my paycheck barely covers our rent, basic utility bills, and groceries. The reality is, trying to keep Abby comfortable and cared for has already pushed us past the breaking point. We have accumulated $30,000 in debt just covering out-of-pocket medical expenses, travel to specialists, and pain management. On top of that, we are facing another $20,000 in debt from the unpaid time I’ve had to take off work just to be home, care for Abby, and make sure our daughter is looked after on the hardest days.

​With almost no benefits left and this financial weight on our shoulders, the costs for the treatments Abby desperately needs to manage her PPMS are entirely beyond our reach.

​In the middle of this storm is our 6-year-old daughter, Indy. We have tried so hard to shield her from the heavy, daily reality of her mother’s illness. For her, playing sports is her sanctuary. It’s the one place where she can just run, play, and be a carefree kid, keeping her mind off the struggles waiting at home. But with the crushing weight of our daily expenses and looming medical bills, even the registration fees and basic costs of keeping her in sports have become impossible to afford.
