Hello Everyone,

My name is Abby, and I am honored to be competing in the Miss Black DMV USA Pageant, proudly holding the title of Ms. Black Owings Mills. The competition will take place November 7–9, 2025, in Bowie, Maryland. My platform is called Voices Unlocked, which shines a light on Autism awareness and empowerment.

I am a proud mother of a child with autism, so this journey is very dear to me. Those who know me know that I have never spoken about this publicly on social media—so the fact that I am sharing now tells you how passionate I am about this mission.

There was a time when I was lost and overwhelmed. I didn’t understand what was happening, and I withdrew into my own bubble. I felt stuck, invisible, and weighed down. That’s why I am stepping forward today—to help other Black women avoid that stage of hopelessness. My purpose is to show that we will not be defeated, and we will not be pushed into a state of mind where we can’t hold ourselves up anymore. Together, we can stand stronger, more confident and more supported than ever before.

Through Voices Unlock, I want to help other Black women embrace this journey with confidence, while also advocating for more resources here in Maryland to support mothers and children navigating autism. Beyond the pageant, my vision is to use this platform to raise funds toward my cause and give back to the community, creating spaces of hope, support, and resources for families like mine.

This fundraiser will not only help me compete in the Miss Black DMV USA Pageant this November, but it will also allow me to begin building my platform work right here in Maryland.
