BIG HEARTS HELP LITTLE HEARTS IN NEED
HeartKids relies heavily on the generous support and fundraising efforts of people like us. All proceeds go towards supporting people affected by CHD as well as funding vital medical research.
As the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for all people impacted by congenital heart disease, one of the leading causes of death of Australian babies, HeartKids aims to:
- Advocate for the needs of people with congenital heart disease, their families and carers
- Provide quality information to guide families on their whole life journey
- Drive world class research into the causes, treatment and management of congenital heart disease, committing over $3M to date
- Deliver high quality support services via all major Australian children’s hospitals and in the community
HeartKids aims to support the over 65,000 Australian children, teens, and adults affected by congenital or childhood-acquired heart disease (CHD), and their families. Their purpose is to help every child, teenager, and adult in Australia with CHD have a fighting chance to live a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
They are the voice for all people impacted by CHD, the largest cause of infant death in Australia.
HeartKids is the only Australian charity to:
- Support, inform and educate families throughout their whole CHD journey; AND
- Advocate for the needs of all people impacted by CHD; AND
- Drive funding to unite researchers, clinicians, heart kids, families and communities through world-leading research and action programs; AND
- Harness the passion of the CHD community for greater impact.
Abbott ANZ SH is has been an official supporting partner since 2020 and will continue this into the future. You would remember the fundraising and awareness campaigns we have been privileged to be a part of in the past, such as Sweethearts Day on Feb 14, Hero for HeartKids Day in June and the Two Feet and a HeartBeat Charity Walk each October.
