Abbey passed away due to complications stemming from a sudden heart attack days before Christmas. Family and other loved ones were able to say their goodbyes before he moved on. Abbey was a father of four beautiful children: Loverly, 23, Marley, 18, Santino, 5, and Omari, 1.

With more than 10 years experience as a videographer in combat sports with USA TODAY's MMA Junkie and elsewhere, Abbey's death is felt across his work industry. Although he spent most of his time behind the camera, his fingerprints on various forms of digital media could be instantly recognized for its impressive quality and attention to detail. His many masterpieces included features on UFC champion Kayla Harrison, UFC legend Dustin Poirier and many others.

Abbey's skillset was an inspiration to his fans, colleagues and friends. His talent and work ethic was exceeded only by his love for his family, who he always wanted to discuss with friends and were a daily motivation.
