Abandoned Elderly & Blind Cats Need Your Support

Tax deductible
One rainy morning not too long ago, our rescue received a call from the local police department. They informed us that we had a large number of pet carriers in our parking lot and these carriers held live animals.

Several volunteers raced to the location to discover that someone had abandoned (dumped) numerous cats at our shelter. The rescuers quickly moved the carriers containing the cats into our shelter, so they wouldn't have to endure the cold and rainy weather. After ensuring all cats were alive and didn't require immediate medical attention, they were provided with food and water.

Once the cats were provided with the necessities, we determined that someone had forsaken 15 cats, including senior cats, younger cats, and a pregnant cat. Surprisingly most of them were blind.

We suspect these cats were from a hoarding situation, but we could never confirm it. However, these cats are fortunate to have been rescued by us because we are a genuine "No-Kill" shelter, and none of these cats will ever be put down.

Our resources were already stretched to the limit and our facility was near full capacity. However, we were suddenly hit with an influx of mostly blind cats which overwhelmed us. As we scrambled to accommodate these animals, our devoted team emphasized the urgent need for veterinary care. We promised to ensure that all the cats received the necessary medical attention by taking them to the vet. We underscored the importance of immediate medical attention for the animals to ensure their well-being.

Our refuge is currently facing a dire situation. We rely solely on the generosity of donations and volunteers to sustain our operations, and so we have issued a desperate plea for help.

Specifically, we are seeking a total of 50,000 donations to help cover the costs of specialized veterinary care, ophthalmic procedures, and dental work for the cats in our care.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

This incident highlights the need for responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering practices, to combat the issue of pet abandonment.
