Our holiday to Zante Star, Tsilivi, Zakynthos.
On the day that we arrived at Zante Star, we found an English pointer terrier who had been abandoned by its owners. Throughout our stay, he had not left the borders of the hotel so ourselves and other guests have been feeding and caring for him.
Since landing back in the UK, we have also been informed that he is still staying at the hotel. We have attempted to organise Zante Strays Dog Shelter to collect him and care for him. Unfortunately, they have no room in their shelter for him. This is due to the number of dogs abandoned in Greece being such a significant problem.
Temperatures are currently hitting 40°. He is clearly hot and uncomfortable.
We are determined to bring him home to the UK and to adopt him as we know that we can offer him a much better life than the one that he is facing in Tsilivi. However, this is not a straightforward process. We are currently looking for a short term foster home. Zante Strays have said that if he has an address, they will be responsible for neutering and vaccinating him.
We are raising funds to pay for his food, upkeep and any vet bills that may be incurred. Also to organise his travel to the UK.
Please help us save this dog, Stanley, from a fate that no animal deserves.
Any additional funds after his journey to the UK is paid for, will be donated to Zante Strays in order to help other strays in Greece live a better life.
