Abandoned dog in BKLYN needs help with ER vet cost

Hi everyone! A basset hound (approx. 2 years old) was abandoned at the dog park in Herbert Von King in Bed-Stuy on Labor Day (we literally saw his handler leave him there).

 He has signs of long-term neglect: long curly nails, smelling strongly of urine, extreme dehydration, and a very skinny, malnourished body.

 We took him immediately to get him groomed, and we are taking him to a vet tomorrow (many were closed today for a holiday), but obviously, these things cost money—and we are already aware that he very likely has a UTI at a minimum. We need help to cover these emergency expenses, and so we are reaching out to fellow animal lovers and pet parents like you!

 We estimate that we might require as much as $2,000–but if there is any funding left over after we cover these essential costs, we will return the surplus to you all.
