Abandoned Cats and Dogs of Madeira

We found Sammy sleeping on the street outside a closed gate that never opened for him. He was thin and exhausted from his constant search for food and water. Once we realized this darling puppy had been abandoned, we coaxed him to safety with food and water. Next day, we took him for a bath and then for a check up with a Veterinarian. After being vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered, Sammy had won our hearts and we knew we could not leave him behind. We brought him home to Canada with us, where every day he learns a little more about living in a place where dogs play with other dogs, play with toys, walk to the beach or park, and enjoy going out in the car. Inspired by Sammy, and by the support of our friends, we are now on a mission to raise funds to spay and neuter the animals of Madeira so that in the future, puppies and kittens are born into homes where they will be cherished, not abandoned. No animal should have to live on busy streets, scavenging for scraps. With your help, we can make a difference for the dogs and cats of Madeira. Every one dollar will help.
