Abaco Storm Aid- High Banks Volunteer Fire Service

Hello, I have setup this gofundme page for the High Banks Volunteer Fire Services team in Central/ South Abaco,  they are in dire need of funds to continue their services during these difficult times. As one of the only Stations still operating after the storm, they are left with the difficult task of responding to Marsh Harbour, Spring City, Little Harbour, Cherokee, Casuarina, and Bahama Palm Shores, amongst many others!

Over the years, myself and many others, have been fortunate enough to call Abaco home, or to some a second home.  We have also been fortunate enough to be a part of the team behind the High Banks fire station and blessed to have their services. All funds from this campaign will go directly to the High Banks Volunteer fire Services account, they are completely volunteer with no government funding.

On the 1st of September, 2019 
Hurricane Dorian came in with a bang as a Category 5 storm.
With winds gusting up to 200 mph, Dorian completely wiped out most of Central Abaco including most fire stations.

The High Banks Volunteer Fire Service firehouse, located in South Abaco, was unscathed however all of our corporate sponsor's businesses and buildings were destroyed leaving us with little or no income to continue funding our service. Bush fires occur year round now and there is a huge abundance dead bush and trees on the ground from the hurricane . We are appealing for help in preparation for what most likely be an active fire season. Our goal has always been to protect not only our community but the communities in Central Abaco. With the other Fire Services on Abaco severely compromised, we will be hard pressed to provide adequate fire suppression.
