We are the Schiedel family based out of Cape Canaveral. We are frequent visitors to the Abacos and have many friends through over 30 years over our travels over. They have lost everything. 
We are directing the funds to specific needs to the families that were directly affected by the storm by purchasing everything they need to rebuild their lives. we have shipped over 3 containers of supplies via barge and other vessels and have made several trips over.  We are purchasing generators, power tools, fasteners,building materials of all kinds, medical equipment and personally delivering as much as we can.  Every dollar we are accounting for going directly to the people in the most need. Our withdrawal plans with this campaign are to order more supplies and to ship as we can. We are providing living expenses as many people have been displaced. Lodging, healthcare, transportation will be covered with this. We currently have 2 Bahamian citizens living with us who have visas and are trying to obtain work visas through the legal process.

Reports from the Bahamas have not been good!  I think everyone has seen the footage by now, but many of the islands have been completely destroyed.  Most have lost everything and many are still trapped in crumbling homes surrounded by water.  I first started posting on Facebook just trying to raise supplies to bring over by boat and received a tremendous amount of support.  Many have been asking about making donations so I decided to start this GoFundMe page. 

I want to be clear that 100% of donated funds will go directly towards relief efforts!  The Bahamas have meant so much to my family and I throughout the years and the people there are some of the greatest you'll ever meet!  These people need our immediate help and will need  support for a very long time!  Thanks so much for your continued generosity!
