The Water Bottle Project

Hey everybody! My name is Jackie Barr and I recently traveled to Haiti. As I traveled around Haiti I could not help but notice all of the piles of plastic bottles that flowed through the rivers and covered the ground. Due to the fact that there is no clean drinking water, unless it is bottled, there is a surplus of plastic bottles. This problem is heightened because there is no trash removal service.

As a model of being environmentally conscious Dr. Kelly Crowdis, an in country veterinary missionary, is building an entire house out of water bottles and cement. This means the foundation, the floors, the walls, and possibly even the roof is created out of these bottles. This will teach the community a new way to be environmentally
friendly through recycling.

I am going to be running a half marathon, in March, as a show of support for this project. Every mile I run I am dedicating to the completion of this house. Please join me in supporting this project by making a financial contribution. Would you consider a $10 donation for a bag of cement to help in the completion of this house?  Dr. Kelly is working extremely hard to set a different example of environmental stewardship, I hope you will join me in raising money for this project.
