Life Saving Treatment
Donation protected
Wilbur is a 10 year old Dachshund, a deeply loved pet who has been a major part of his owners mental health and wellbeing. On Good Friday he had a fall, slipping a disc in his neck leaving him paralysed. Fast action getting him to a vet and referral to the Royal Veterinary College meant he was able to have life saving surgery, saving his life and enabling him to continue playing such an integral role in the lives of not only his owner but many people. Unfortunately this came at a cost. The out of hours bank holiday appointment alone cost £450 and the MRI, life saving surgery and inpatient care at RVC cost almost £8000. His insurance is yet to cover £3000 maximum. He will need further treatment and appointments. We are thankful that friends stepped up to put the initial vet fee and 50% college estimate on credit card to get Wilbur treated. The balance of the vet fees will need to be covered and those who loaned funds paid back. We are hoping this will not impact or delay any further treatment needed.
We are asking for contributions towards covering Wilbur’s treatment and to ensure he gets whatever is needed to make the best recovery possible.
