Towards the end of March, I took my mom to the hospital, she was tired of being in so much pain and wanted answers. Sadly, the answer we received was not what we wanted nor expected. Stage four pancreatic cancer, it had spread to her liver and lungs… and given two to three months without treatment. After a week of being in the hospital, she started treatment – ready to fight. Unfortunately, chemo didn’t respond well to her body and she ended up back in the hospital for 8 days a week later. The chemo damaged her heart and was no longer an option for her. A week after leaving the hospital during her check up they discovered her potassium level was dangerously high and once again sent to the hospital for the third time. After a few days she decided it was best to switch to Hospice care and came home. Everything happened so quickly, we made many memories but six weeks after her diagnosis mom went to be with the Lord. She was “mom” to so many, loved everyone, and was always there to encourage you or bake a cake if needed HA! She loved to bake and loved people. She is missed.
We are thankful that as much time she spent in the hospital and at the cancer center her medical bills are not extreme, nor are the funeral costs… however there is costs and my family can use some assistance in them.
We thank you for your prayers, love and financial assistance at this time.
