Aaryn's eye loss & medical expenses
Donation protected
On Feb 8, 2018, my son, Aaryn Williams was securing a mattress onto his vehicle with bungee cords when one of them came loose and struck him in his left eye, causing a devastating eye injury and requiring emergency surgery. The surgery was unsuccessful in saving his eye and on Feb. 21, 2018 Aaryn will undergo a second surgery to remove the eye and reconstruct the remaining area to accommodate a prosthesis, which he will be fitted for, and have made, in a few months.
He is unable to work and it will be a couple months before he can go back to work. At this time it is uncertain if he will return to construction or seek other employment. As far as we can tell from researching the internet, he is not eligible for short term disability because he isn't a teacher and he has not paid into state retirement. He will have medical and other expenses for some time to come as a result of his injury and any donations will be used for those expenses.
We are grateful for the positive thoughts and prayers coming our way. We feel them a thousand times a day, in a thousand different ways. Aaryn has a long physical and emotional journey ahead of him, so please keep those thoughts and prayers coming. Thank you,
