Aaron’s 4th Open Heart Surgery

Donation protected
The time has come for Aaron, age 5, to have his 4th open heart surgery on November 6th, 2023, in Philadelphia. Such a sweet little boy, he has endured and been through so much. You can find Aaron singing worship songs and putting smiles on peoples faces on a regular basis.

Along the way, Aaron’s support system has also willingly endured, being a constant source of Aaron’s encouragement, protection, drive, and motivation. Physically driving to appointments, having hospital stays both planned and at a moments notice, just going with whatever is going on that day - God has equipped Chip, Anita, Abigail, Mirabelle, and Jamison Koban to be strong, ever-moving-forward pillars in Aaron’s life.

It is clearly evident that his and his family’s hope is in the Lord. God’s hand has been guiding them along this difficult road and is providing amazing medical professionals.

The Koban’s did not request this GoFundMe and really only asks for your prayers to guide Aaron’s doctors and keep Aaron strong to have a successful surgery and recovery. But we know that a surgery of this magnitude and the amount of unpaid time off work are not going to take care of the Koban’s needs for bills, food, and expenses traveling back and forth from the hospital, eating at the hospital, etc.

Absolutely NO pressure or obligation, but if you feel led to help the Koban family out with expenses in a monetary gift, you can do so here. If you want to pray for specific needs, you can keep updated here.

Here is the latest update from Anita:

“Amazing Aaron has been discharged temporarily. Unfortunately on November 6 we return to CHOP for open heart surgery. For two years we have been able to put this off, but his heart is now in a place where waiting is not possible. This surgery will be with a new surgeon and the chief of cardiothoracic surgery at CHOP. All the EP team has gotten to know my sweet boy and today pulled me aside to tell me they are getting the best surgeon on Aaron's case. I know they meant this because the EP doctor made sure no one around heard his bias which made me feel so much at ease.

For the time leading up to surgery Aaron will need to be isolated to avoid getting sick. This can start to affect his mental health so please pray he keeps his silly side.

Thank you for the prayers, meals and generosity. These things will
and have allowed us to spend our time together which is very precious these days. We really cannot explain how much we appreciate the help. Even small tasks can be difficult when you can't stop to catch a breath.

Lastly, God will continue to guide us. We know this truth. We know this is just a chapter in a story that is still being written. We also know Satan will try to do everything to break us when we are in the thick of this storm, please pray for strength. We've had three admissions, two of them emergency calls since August, and we are ready to put this behind us.”
