Aaron Armijo 8/1/96 - 5/24/21

Aaron touched many people with his determination, will to live, and his beautiful smile. He was a 2015 Rio Rancho High School graduate and a 4-year letterman as the manager and video coordinator for boys basketball. He coached little league and basketball and did the play-by-play for YAFL football. Aaron always was eager to help people. All donations to the Aaron Armijo Scholarship Fund are tax deductible and benefit senior scholarship winners from Rio Rancho High School.

The Aaron Armijo Memorial Scholarship recently awarded six scholarships to Rio Rancho High School Seniors at the annual Phoenix dinner and at the Senior Awards assembly. The organization raised over $8,000 through a fundraising effort called Snow Cones for Scholarships. Volunteers sold snow cones at the Rio Rancho High School home football games.

The students selected to receive the scholarships are Grace Medina, Julian Amezquita, Mia Jaramillo, Tamaya Oliver, Ava Clayton, and Dylan Cialkowski.

In 2023, the scholarship fund raised over $5,000. Recipients were Micaela Romero, Aidan Foutz, Zackary Miller, Dacia Marquez, and Alejandra Mercado. This scholarship is only for graduating seniors from Rio Rancho High School. Recipients may use the scholarship to pay for tuition and expenses at any four-year college or university, community college or trade school.
