Hi guys!  As some of you may know, I was accepted to attend a YWAM Medical Compassion Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Tauranga, New Zealand July (2015).  It is a five-month mission trip aimed at serving those in desperate need.  The first three months, I'll receive both medical and discipleship training at the Marine Reach training base in Tauranga, New Zealand.  I'll then travel by boat on a two-month outreach to a developing South Pacific or Southeast Asian country.  I will do everything from working in medical clinics to distributing food to the poor and cleaning up after natural disasters.  Most importantly, I’ll be sharing Jesus’ love in a tangible way to those in need!!  I’m not sure what my college/career plans are, but I have a strong interest in the medical field.  This trip will give me practical hands-on experience and I hope it will bring into focus a more specific vision for my life.

I am responsible for raising funds for my travel expenses, tuition, room and board, and many other miscellaneous expenses.  I'm asking for your help in raising that money.  Will you please consider donating to my missions fund and telling others who may be willing to help?  For people who don't know me, I'm a straight “A” high school senior, taking a full academic load, including two concurrent classes at Rose State College.  I work part time at Walgreens.  After paying for my auto insurance and phone bill, I'm saving my money for this mission trip.  Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated!

If you would like to contribute, you can either donate to my general fund or sponsor a specific portion of the trip.  The trip as a whole will cost approximately $10,600.  Here is a breakdown of anticipated expenses:

Airfare— $2,800 (estimate based on current airfare at American Airlines)

Discipleship/Medical Lecture Phase— $4,300 (includes room and board, and tuition)

Outreach Fees— $2,700 (travel fees in country and room and board)

Travel Insurance— $200

Misc. Expenses— $600 (school uniform, laundry fees, toiletries, inland outreaches, wifi fees, bus fare, etc.)

 
Between now and July, I will continue working and saving my money.  Because GoFundMe keeps 8% of donations, I won't be depositing my savings here any longer.  However, I'll post my fund-raising progress on my FaceBook page.  After my trip, any unutilized funds will be donated to YWAM.
