To know Aaron Molina is to have laughter in your life.
Aaron was the best of the best - The best husband, Papa, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a family-man first and many of us admired him for that trait. He lit up any room with his laugh and smile, from his sarcasm to his “dad jokes”, to telling each and every one in his family that they were his favorite and that he loved us “the most” or that he loved us “first and always”.
We ask for your aid in lending a helping hand to his family that we love so very much.
In September, Aaron was diagnosed with what was thought to be pneumonia and when treatment didn’t help, he was admitted to St. Alexius Medical Center. Further testing, a biopsy, and scans determined he had Stage IV lung cancer which had already spread to his bones.
As soon as possible, he began radiation treatments and drains were placed into his lungs to help remove large amounts of fluid build-up caused by the cancer. Complications soon arose and Aaron was back in the hospital for clogged drains, requiring several treatments to unclog them, and continuous oxygen.
In late October, Aaron went for a second opinion as he awaited additional treatments. He unfortunately fell more ill as the cancer had completely taken over his lungs and was rushed to Central DuPage Hospital where he was resuscitated and placed on life support.
Heaven gained the best, funniest, most kind guardian angel on November 1, 2019.
In the less than two months since his diagnosis, Aaron has spent more time in the hospital than at home and during this time his wife - Cathy, daughters - Allie and Lea, and sons-in-law - Steve and Ben (respectively), spent much of that time by his side. As the medical bills and stress pile up during this time of devastating loss, we ask for you to assist in any way, be it a donation, thoughts or prayers, or even a nice memory for Aaron’s family to share. On behalf of the Molina and Simon Families, thank you for taking the time to read about someone we love so much.
