My brother-in-law, Aaron, suffered a stroke while at work on Tuesday, August 30th. During his lunch break, his left side went numb and his speech became slurred. Thank goodness his co-workers recognized the stroke symptoms, jumped into action, and immediately got him to the hospital. They saved his life.

Aaron spent a few days in the ICU and has a long road ahead. He lost all mobility on his left side and is having difficulty with his speech. He was transferred to a rehabilitation facility over this past weekend, and they are already working with him and getting him moving. At this time, we are unsure how long his recovery will take, however it’s likely he will need months of physical therapy. He will stay at the rehab facility for at least another week; then, he’ll transfer home and receive outpatient and in-home treatments.

Aaron is only 40 years old and wants nothing more than to return to his passions of welding and enjoying the outdoors as soon as possible.

We are asking anyone who knows Aaron or our family to consider donating to his recovery, as he and our family will face many unknown expenses in the present and future. His parents are both retired, and with Aaron unable to return to work for the foreseeable future, he will need all the help we can muster to get him all the therapies and medical necessities he will need.

All donations will be used for his recovery; including physical therapy, speech therapy, lifelong medications, any medical devices or adaptive technologies he will need, and any other needs that may come up along the way.
