Aaron Seay: Fighting to Win…

 

My son, Michael Aaron Seay, 37, of Landrum SC lost his lower left leg to surgery on November 2nd. Since then, so many people have expressed deep concern and all ask the same question, “What can I do to help?”. Honestly, this battle with diabetes and extreme neuropathy has been going on for 5 years now. The amputation is the culmination of a progressive infection from an injury one year ago. The swelling was so bad, that several bones fractured and the infection got into the bones and bloodstream. The foot had to go.

 

Now the “Comeback” begins…With the Heart of Wolverine, Aaron has got to claw his way out of this hole. His five wonderful children, and companion Shannon, are counting on him. He knows the drill: Set your short-term goals and mark ‘em off one by one. These Daily Victories will lend to the ultimate goal of a new foot, mobility and a healthy life.

 

When I have been asked by friends and family, “What can I do?” — my first response is to please pray for them. It’s a hard road ahead and he has already suffered immensely. In addition to this spiritual help, Aaron also needs help with physical things. He needs to up-fit his surroundings for a wheel chair and such. Bars, ramps, accessible vehicle, Doctor & Rehab visits, and ultimately…a prosthetic leg, that will help give him his independence back.
