This year has been incredibly challenging as I lost my dad (Don McDowell) after a lengthy battle with cancer.

In the 5 years since his first diagnosis, my dad received exceptional care from the dedicated staff at the Mandeville Unit.

This is my 'WHY' for running the Dublin Marathon on 26th October. It will be my first full marathon and I'm fully committed to training for the big day.

I am running in memory of my dad to raise funds that will help improve the care and comfort for other patients facing similar journeys. The funds raised will be used to enhance patient comforts and creating a more supportive environment for those receiving treatment.
