Aaron was diagnosed January 2017 with a very rare sinonasal cancer. He's had several rounds of chemo, radiation and of course two major surgeries. The cancer has come back even after this treatment (this is a  rare aggressive cancer he's fighting).  Aaron was able to do two cycles of the immunotherapy which resolved 2 large nodules-  some small nodules have grown though within this time. Which tells us the immunotherapy was helping but he needed to stop that for a chance to get into a clinical trial in New York- This is best option per Aaron oncologist. After a lot paper work, phone calls, prayers and tests- Aaron HAS been accepted into the clinical trial at Columbia University. The new drug that Aaron will be receiving is called Tazemetostat- Samantha has found another patient with the same type of cancer as Aaron who has been receiving this drug and she's seen great results! Samantha is hoping to rely on Angel Flights for assistance in transportation- which isn't a guarantee- Even if they can get this assistance they will still have car rental fees, fuel costs, parking fees, food etc- Travel expenses aren't cheap! They will be starting this journey next week and for the first month they will need to travel to NY weekly, then once a month. Samantha of course continues to work in office when she can, from home and even on the road when they need to travel to appointments. She continues to keep all three kids active in school, sports and just outings to keep them busy. They continue to do vacation when they can- Creating Memories are most important to her & Aaron! As we have all learned you never know what tomorrow will bring! She's been by Aarons side EVERY SINGLE STEP of the way- She is his rock! And he is her Superman as Samantha says- Aaron NEVER complains- He jokes, he smiles and continues on with life like nothings ever happened! He amazes me personally with his strength and courage to keep fighting after all he's already been through. Samantha and Aaron have a strong support system with close family- Samantha says weekly how blessed she is to have loved ones close by to help take care of their kids while they travel to treatments, she may not tell each of you how much it means to her but trust me she tells me often! So I am asking for assistance from their friends or anyone for that matter for this next step in Aarons fight.  Let's take a  little stress of theirs backs especially this time of year- and help pay for some of these travel expenses that are about to start.
