AALIYAH'S CANCER TREATMENT FUND

I am a friend and co-worker of Sergio Salgado.  I have known him for three years now and I have set up this fund for his nine-year old daughter, Aaliyah Salgado Garcia.  Aaliyah (pronounced ah-LEE-ya) has been fighting a malignant brain tumor, anaplastic ependymoma, since she was seven.  The tumor is in her brain stem, and for a third of her life, Aaliyah has been undergoing surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment.  For two years, the surgeries and treatment kept Aaliyah's tumor stable.  But this summer she had a routine MRI and it showed that the tumor had doubled in size.  A few days after this discovery, underwent another surgery and 80% of the tumor was removed, but there is no cure.  Aaliyah cannot defeat cancer.  The tumor will continue to grow.

The money from this campaign will not save Aaliyah's life, but Aaliyah's mother and father are praying for a miracle and they want to keep their daughter with them as long as possible.  She is undergoing new radiation treatments and Sergio and his wife, Yesenia, are taking Aaliyah to a Naturopath in the hope that alternative medicine will help extend Aaliyah's life or at least make her more comfortable so the family can be together in peace and love.

There are many sick children.  Many who need help.  But this is one little girl we can help and we can help her parents.  The medical bills and the alternative medical treatment takes ever single penny the family has.  And more.  The worst suffering to see is the suffering of a child.  If you could meet Aaliyah, you would see what a sweet little girl she is.  Please help Aaliyah and help her mother and father pay for her treatments.  They will be forever grateful to you for helping their daughter.
