Hi my name is Kendra and I am Aaliyah’s mom. As many of you know Aaliyah has been in and out of the hospital since last year. She was officially diagnosed with SJIA systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, which is an inflammatory autoimmune disease. In the most basic terms her own immune system is attacking her body! She is currently on multiple medications daily and injections. The last injectable medication was denied by insurance for months before getting approved and unfortunately Aaliyah had a bad reaction to it. Today we will be starting a new injectable treatment daily however it is the same battle with insurance and Aaliyah can not wait for treatment. On top of that expense I am not able to work while Aaliyah is currently in the hospital due to her condition. Medical bills have been coming in from her last hospital stay totaling to 1,400. With that all being said I know many of you have reached out asking if we need anything. Besides your love and support I feel like if we can all pitch in we can cover the injections for Aaliyah until insurance approves them, also to help out with out standing medical bills.
