"Aaliyah's Leukemia Fighter Squad"

Dear friends and family,

On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, we received news that crushed our hearts and brought us to our knees. Our sweet 10-year old granddaughter, Aaliyah, has been diagnosed with Leukemia.  

This news has turned our family's world upside down, bringing about a whirlwind of feelings and emotions.

It has only just begun, but God has already shown us His mercy and grace in many ways. One way He has shown us is the outpouring of love and support from family and friends toward Aaliyah and her parents, Brian and Sarah Safstrom.

We have had an overwhelming amount of people reach out and ask for ways to help. Obviously, between the nature of Aaliyah’s diagnosis and the risk of exposure and also Covid-19 and everything with that, it makes it difficult to find tangible ways to help. IF this is a way you would like to support this family, we have opened a Go Fund Me page to help alleviate some burden from the medical costs and additional time off work over the next 2 years.

More than money, we ask for a prayer army to keep Aaliyah and all of her family in your prayers for the days, weeks, and months ahead. Also, that you would send notes of encouragement in a few months when this is wearing on them all, and for their daughter, Aaliyah, to know how many people are standing with her and fighting beside her in this.
