Aaliyah's Summer Opera In Italy !!

Hello eveyone, my name is Aaliyah Schoclet and I will soon be a graduate from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. As I look to further my education and gain experience as an opera singer, I am so excited and honored to announce that I was accepted into the Opera Viva! program in Verona, Italy this summer. This is an amazing opportunity for I will be able to experience one of the cultures that introduced opera to the world. This program will allow me to perform various arias, oratorios and scenes with some amazing individuals throughout Verona! I will also be performing the lead soprano role in the opera Falstaff, as Alice, and I am beyond excited. While at this program I will be able to enhance my singing and performance skills by participating in the following:
- Alexander technique classes
- Italian language and diction courses
- Master classes
- Private Voice lessons
- Recitative Classes
- Private Coachings and scene rehearsals
Not to mention the amazing opportunity to :
- Visit historical venues
- See amazing operas
- Experience a new culture
- Gain incredible knowledge
By attending this program I will come back a stronger performer and be more educated in the Italian culture and language. But most importantly I will be able to continue to do what I love (sing opera) while I figure out my path on the way to graduate school. I feel that this program will open new opportunities for me and will give me the ability to grow as a performer and I can not wait for it to begin.
I recieved a $1,000 scholarship from UTSA to apply toward the cost of this program, but this award only covers a small portion of the cost. The total cost of the program is $4,900 (this does not include flight and food expenses). This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I hope you can help me get there. The funds that I raise through this campaign will help me pay for the remainder of the tuiton and truly just help me continue to live my dream. Thank you so much for your constant love and support.
