Reclaim Slope Day: A Celebration for All Cornell Students

Donation protected
Cornell’s Slope Day is meant to be the highlight of every Cornell student’s semester. It is a time where the entire student body can come together and celebrate the closing of the academic year, the memories they made, and the friendships that they have formed, all while taking in an amazing performance by a spectacular artist! Unfortunately, Cornell has given a platform to a performer who has actively utilized her following to spread hateful messaging, thereby turning this year’s Slope Day into a place that no longer supports “any person”. Kehlani has utilized her platform to publicly call for the “intifada” and to “dismantle Israel”, both on social media and in a music video that go far beyond political critique.

Therefore, we students wish to create a new Slope Day programming in the way it was meant to be carried out: fostering unity and creating a place for all students. We are hoping to raise funds in order to bring a performer who does not actively engage in hate speech towards Jews and is also more entertaining and phenomenal! We hope to raise a huge sum in order to put on a Slope Day performance that no Cornell student will forget and to show those who are against us that they cannot win! We appreciate any and all support in this effort!

Am Yisrael Chai!

***Disclaimer: We would like to point out that it is possible that we will not reach our goal, given that the goal is so high and that this production is extremely difficult to carry out in such a short time frame. If the performance is not able to come to fruition, we will use any funds which we raise to help combat campus antisemitism and to help put on many more Pro-Israel events on campus in the future!

Dear Donors,

We are writing with an important update regarding the campaign organized to fund an alternative performer for Slope Day 2025. As you may have heard, President Kotlikoff has made the decision to rescind Kehlani’s invitation as this year’s Slope Day headliner! Article linked here: https://www.cornellsun.com/article/2025/04/breaking-kotlikoff-rescinds-kehlani-invite-citing-antisemitism-and-hateful-views
Without your support, we would not have been able to show the administration the gravity of the situation. You helped us show how many people feel strongly that Kehlani has no place headlining this event given her hateful rhetoric towards so many people.

As mentioned in the description, we will reroute your donation to support future Israel programming. Cornellians For Israel aims to combat antisemitism, educate students about Israel, put on fun events, build bridges across communities, and promote inclusivity on campus. Some examples of our upcoming events include a screening of the October 8 film on Monday https://www.october8film.com/ and a comedy show with Zach Sage Fox https://www.instagram.com/zach.sage/?hl=enon Thursday. These initiatives are more vital than ever, and your generosity will continue to make an impact.

While this outcome aligns with the concerns that motivated our campaign, we also recognize that it changes the nature of the fundraiser. Given that we are not moving forward with our own alternative Slope Day event, we believe it is only right to offer a full refund of your donation. If you would like a refund, fill out this form https://support.gofundme.com/hc/en-us/articles/204150420-Request-a-refund.

We are deeply grateful for your support and belief in our mission. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Am Yisrael Chai!!

With appreciation,
Cornellians For Israel
