Harry Needs HELP

Late one evening, one of our HSNBA Board Members was awakened by a horrific sound in her backyard. Rushing outside they found Harry who was tangled up in a fence in New Braunfels Texas. Despite being in tremendous pain, he allowed his rescuers to unhook him from the fence and bring him safely inside but it was obvious he needed immediate veterinary care so he was rushed to our dear friends at Creekview Veterinary Clinic.

The damage to his back leg was EXTENSIVE so he was rushed into emergency surgery. There was no way to save the mangled leg so amputation was the only option. He stayed in ICU care at the vet, ultimately needing two more follow up surgeries to mitigate the infection and provide IV fluids and nutrition as the poor cat was so weak and depleted from his ordeal.

Through it all, Harry was nothing but amazingly sweet and affectionate for all of us, including the vets and techs caring so lovingly for him. There was a period of about 5 days where we really didn't think he was going to make it but finally our prayers were answered when he finally turned a corner was stable enough to go back into foster care with his rescuer!

In foster care, Harry is learning how to be "tri-pawd", being showered with affection from his foster family, including two small children, two big dogs and the other cats in the foster home. He is now finally ready to find his forever home but HSNBA is struggling to pay his extensive vet bills. Despite the DEEP discounts our terrific veterinary partner extends to us, ICU care and 3 surgeries added up really quick and this was simply not in our budget.
