Help My Sister Rebuild After Abuse & Protect Her Newborn

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out for help on behalf of my little sister, who is currently going through something no new mother should ever have to experience.

Just 4 weeks after giving birth, she found herself in a dangerous and abusive situation with her child’s father. Recently, he refused to let her leave their home while holding their newborn baby, taunting and recording her during the situation. Fearing for her safety and her baby’s well-being, she called me, and we rushed to get her and the baby out safely.

The situation escalated even further. When she returned to collect her belongings—after being told he would be gone—she walked in on him with another woman. What happened next was traumatic: the two of them physically attacked her. He restrained her in a chokehold while the other woman assaulted her. My sister, only 4 weeks postpartum, had to defend herself.

For the past week before this incident, she and her newborn had been forced to sleep on the couch while he took over their bed, continuing manipulative and aggressive behavior.

To make matters worse, he has taken her car and many of the baby’s belongings, leaving her with almost nothing. She is now facing urgent legal fees to protect herself and her child, regain custody of her belongings, and ensure their safety moving forward.

This has been an incredibly traumatic experience during what should be one of the most special times in her life—bonding with her newborn.

We are asking for help to:

- Cover legal expenses

- Replace essential baby items

- Help her secure safe, stable housing

- Begin the process of rebuilding her life
