Hi, my name is Emily, and I’m a cath lab tech who has the privilege of working alongside my dear friend and coworker, Mel. I’m organizing this fundraiser to support her as she bravely faces one of the biggest battles of her life.

Mel was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Her treatment plan will include extensive chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. While she is prepared to fight with everything she’s got, the emotional, physical, and financial toll is overwhelming.

Mel has been a dedicated cath lab tech for 25 years. She’s the kind of person who lights up every room with her infectious laugh, sharp wit, and colorful scrub caps. She is the biggest advocate for the patients she cares for, and now it’s time we advocate for her. She’s not just a coworker — she’s family.

Outside of work, Mel cares for her husband and daughters, as well as a house full of animals who mean the world to her. As she undergoes treatment, she’ll need support not only with medical expenses but also with the care of her animals, household bills, transportation to appointments, and time away from work.
