"I'm the happiest I have ever been."
This was something I loved hearing my mom say these past few years. And at 64 years young I would say it was about time!
But my mom, Kristin Collings, had been through a lot in her life. So the photos I was getting recently of her travels, her big smile, her time with friends was so reassuring.
Our calls together were growing more connected and deeper. Talking about seeing all the positive opportunities Life gives us all the time, even when it feels challenging. Sharing our gratitudes together and encouragement to have faith in Love.
On June 28th I got a call, but it wasn't my mom...it was an ER doctor. While on her vacation in Canada she suffered a brain hemorrhage. She was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Washington.
The doctor needed my permission to perform a surgery to stop the bleeding to save her life.
Over the next day more calls came...
Mom has lost her ability to speak.
She lost her ability to move her right side.
This is irreversible brain damage .
The bleeding was caused by a large tumor.
The tumor is aggressive and malignant.
Mom has 12 months or less to live.
She will need 24 hr care as long as she is alive.
And with just a few phone calls life was changed forever.
Once I was at my mom's bedside, holding her hand and looking into her eyes, I realized something...that her and I could still talk. But this time it wasn't by a phone call.
It wasn't with her voice, a voice that I long to hear even just for one more time.
It was with our hearts.
So with every effort I continue to be by her side for this precious remaining time we have together to talk.
Heart to Heart.
But after weeks of traveling back and forth from my home in Los Angeles, missing time with my own son, missing time with the business I've worked so hard to grow...Mom and I decided things needed to change!
So we came up with a plan.
WELCOME to the LITTLE BIRD GoFundMe campaign!
This campaign is to raise the funds to medically transport Mom ASAP to Los Angeles and be in our loving care at home during her Transition.
This isn't about saving a life. This is about helping a life end in the most beautiful way possible. About being together until the last breath.
The last I love you.
The last gaze.
I have come to know Peace in a whole new way. To see my mom as the angel that she is. The angel that she is becoming.
To know that her spirit will be set free.
Set free to fly like a little bird.
This is where I find peace.
I have found peace in the outpouring of love and support from all of our community. Resolute in my belief that there is great miraculous power when we come together in Love and Purpose.
We invite you to be apart of this loving, powerful, miracle-making community!
To support our Little Bird campaign you can:
-donate to the funds for Mom's care and transport to be home with us in Los Angeles. Our goal is to manifest $60,000
-donate airline miles to use for our flights to Washington until Mom can come home.
-join us on the journey as we post updates and share our experience on @littlebirdfoundation. Send us your loving thoughts, vibes, and prayers...every single one is felt and appreciated.
-DUPLICATE! Send this out to your own communities to spread the love and energy.
WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR A "MATCHER"
-A VIP soul or organization of souls ...who are inspired by our campaign and will MATCH any funds raised for Mom on GoFundMe.
-This matched amount will then go to our continued foundation that will offer these funds to other families who need support in the Transition of a loved one from brain cancer.
-Our foundation will also provide continued support for those going through the Transition of a parent or have already lost a parent. We will hold a weekly support call for anyone who needs a safe place to be loved and heard. More info @littlebirdfoundation

My life changed when I realized it was made up of a bunch of "stories." Stories about who I am
Stories about love
Stories about money
Stories about what is possible in this life
So. Many. Stories.
And most of these stories were about limitation.
But with this realization I saw that at any moment I can write a new story. A story about limitlessness.
A story about the incredible Life force that is always present encouraging me to grow.
To expand.
So I'm changing the story about death.
I'm changing the story about unexpectedly losing my mom to cancer. I'm changing the story that some things in life seem impossible.
Let's change it together...
Eternally Grateful,
Coriann Bright
