Melissa’s cancer journey
Donation protected
Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2022.
Since then there have been constant blood draws, biopsies, MRIs, scans, medications, injections and surgery.
As you can imagine it gets pretty expensive. Surgery was billed for over $100,000. The monthly injections Melissa gets are over $5000. While insurance does cover some of the cost, unfortunately Melissa’s insurance does have a high deductible that has to be reached first. Worried about the financial strain, Melissa has started to see a dollar sign over her head head for each year she and Jeff will have to pay this deductible.
Additionally, there are several things that aren’t covered by insurance. Insurance will not cover additional lymphedema sleeves and gloves. She also needs to buy several over the counter medications such as Claritin, Imodium, nasal sprays, and eye drops, just to name a few.
This is all to say is aside from the huge emotional toll, cancer has taken a huge financial toll as well.
Please consider donating and helping ease some of the financial burden of Melissa’s cancer journey. Any amount will be helpful and help her breathe easier.
