January 2021
Six months ago July 7, 2020 is a day I will never forget. I got a phone call that no parent ever wants to get saying “Your son has been hit by a car.” The police couldn’t tell me if he was alive or not over the phone. So you can imagine my anxiety was high the entire way to the hospital. The accident happened a couple blocks away from our house and by the time the officer had called, they already took Mello away in the ambulance The swelling in his brain was so bad they had to remove a part of his skull to relieve the pressure. Romello has been at 3 different hospitals & 2 (TERRIBLE!) Rehab hospital/facilities and now we have decided to finally bring him home. Romello has long road of recovery ahead & has come a long way in 6 months despite several setbacks. It is going to require a lot of work to care for him at home but I am DONE with inpatient rehabs. Romello is strong, he is smart, and he is a fighter! I am so proud of the accomplishments he has made and look forward to seeing him continue to recover. I am so thankful that God saved his life, it’s an absolute miracle! Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support!
Hello, my name is Nyree Dawn and my son is Romello. He was hit by a car 7/7/20. I am currently living here at the hospital with him. I will try my best to post any updates as I recieve them. Romello is 15 years old and an amazing kid! He works hard to help everyone he knows. Romello always is ready and willing to give or help others. Now he needs help. Mello is currently in a coma state but has been moving his arms legs. the only injury he sustained was to the brain. There are no broken bones anywhere in his body.
