Hi friends and family…these past few years seem to be hitting harder than any have unfortunately…
Many of you have seen the Facebook post regarding dad being in the hospital…to give you a little update, the outcome we were told was dad has broken ribs, a broken arm, and a punctured lung due to the fall. He had surgery to fix the broken arm, and a chest tube is in place to allow his lung to heal. The case manager we spoke to said overall dad is doing really well and he’ll make it out just fine. We anticipate him coming home from the hospital in a couple days.
Perhaps this is the catalyst that pushes him to hit the retirement button, but that is a big decision for many. While he debates the next chapter in life, we started a GoFundMe for dad to offset the costs of future medical bills that will be coming in the mail soon (not sure how crazy they will be just yet), cover rent for at least a month so dad has one less thing to worry about as he recovers.
Another part of putting this GoFundMe together for dad is to not only help buy him time /peace while he heals, but also take some weight off his shoulders as well as he won’t be returning to work right away (hopefully not at all- no more ladders dad).
We love you all so much, and can’t thank you enough for all the support you’ve given our family over the past few years. They haven’t been exactly easy, but you’ve all been there helping when and how you could. It means so much.
