This is Ray Bennett. He is my Grandpa. He is 80 years, 6 months, 3 weeks and 3 days days old as of today. He lives in Ithaca, NY. He is a God fearing man and has lived a fruitful life as a strong Christian, Faithful Husband, Loving Father, and Loving Grandfather. Up until recently he would still hold bible studies at his house and with out fail share his own personal self sermons and scriptual blessing to those who desired to receive them. He is nothing but joy and encouragement to those he spends time with.
On 8/5/15 2:25pm i received a call from my father telling me that Grandpa Ray's hospice nurse had called and said things did not look good. My mother, who is an only daughter with 2 brothers, had already made plans to go and visit him but not so soon. My father has been through a mountain of difficulties the past 2 years, which have left him currently disabled. He soon lost his job but has been fighting strong and doing what he can to support my Mom where he can. My mother has been through SO much emotionally these past 2 years. The possible loss of my father, job transitions, and a couple earlier scares with Grandpa Ray. This is so very hard for her and it has come at a time that is not the easiest to begin with.
My parents and I live in Dallas, TX. Due to the travel agency policies and the airlines drop of Grievance Discounts my mothers air fare has reached over $720. She is going to need a rental car as well as a place to stay and food for her visit. Unfortunately my parents cannot afford to do this and they need our help! I ask that if you can contribute anything at all, please help! I understand that finances are a difficulty for many, but i also believe in the power of our Risen Lord Jesus! If you cannot contribute finacially i ask that you lift up my Grandpa Ray and my parents in your prayers that God will provide all that is needed. Emotionally and Finacially.
Lastly, i have not seen my Grandpa Ray in a long time and would love to see him before he goes. I am contributing what i can to my mom before myself. It is more important that she makes the trip than myself. But i believe that if we reach our goal we will have enough for both of us.
Thank You All So Much! Please Pray Hard. I love you all!!!
