My name is Mark and I run Belfast Breakfast Baps.

Most days I’m either cooking food, walking miles across Belfast feeding people who need it, or trying to bring a bit of community back into the city.

Recently I came across Brianna’s story.

Brianna lives with Aicardi Syndrome, an extremely rare neurological condition that brings with it enormous challenges. Her journey through life will never be simple, and the reality is that the people around her carry that journey every single day alongside her.

Her family are warriors.

They face things most of us can barely imagine — hospital visits, constant care, uncertainty and the emotional weight that comes with loving someone who needs that level of support.

When I first came up with the idea of doing a live back wax fundraiser, the money was meant for our general community efforts.

But the more I learned about Brianna and what her family face every day, the clearer it became that this money should go to them.

So on Friday 27th March I’ll be getting my back waxed live on Facebook.

It won’t be pretty.

Humour helps people come together, but the reason behind this is very real.

Every single penny raised will go towards making life a little easier for Brianna and the people who support her through her journey — whether that’s equipment, care needs, travel, or simply easing some of the pressure that families like hers carry.

No grand speeches.

Just people helping people.
