As a member of the choir Williamson Voices, I have the wonderful opportunity this summer to travel to Oxford, England, July 7-17 to participate in the Choral Institute described above. It will be an incomparable experience in developing my musical studies. The video above is from the Grammy-nominated recording that Williamson Voices made of James Whitbourn's Annelies - The First Major Choral Setting of the Diary of Anne Frank. We performed it on April 26 at Alice Tully Hall in New York and we will be performing it again at Oxford University.
After the Choral Institute, I will be traveling to Tours, France, where I will study Gregorian Chant with Dom. Daniel Saulnier OSB (from Solesmes!). He has written numerous books on chant and is one of the world's leading chant scholars.
My goal is to raise $2,000 to pay for all of the expenses. The admission and room/board for the Choral Institute at Oxford is taken care of through the school, but I am paying for the plane tickets, train rides, the Chant studies, food, and lodgings while I am in France. Anything that you can give to help make my plans a reality would be appreciated. Please keep my travels in your prayers.
