Hi, my name is Rebecca, and this is very difficult for me because I'm a very independent person. I'm trying to raise funds for my security deposit for an apartment I'm scheduled to move into on December 30th.

Until recently, I was under the impression that Section 8 Housing would be helping me with the security deposit. I found out differently at the last minute.

I am moving from the house I have been living in for the last 24 years, because I can't afford to stay. It was sold, and the new landlord raised the rent so high that even with my Section 8 voucher, it's more than I can handle.

Section 8 apartments are very hard to come by here, and I don't want lose this one. Most places have a waiting list of up to two years.

If I wait, I won't be able to keep up with the rent, I'll be evicted, I'll lose my voucher, and I'll be homeless.

I just need a little help for a fresh start. Thank you.
