Our family is carrying a pain we never imagined we would face. On April 10th, 2026, my sister-in-law & brother got the worst call a parent could get. My niece Raluca was involved in a car accident with a friend. Another person chose to get behind the wheel while drunk, ran a red light, and hit my niece and her friend, resulting in their car being wrapped around a pole and my niece being pinned in the car, resulting in her being in a coma. She gained her wings on 4/16/2026.

She had a smile that lit up every room, a beautiful accent, and a love for her son that was deeper than words. She deserved a lifetime of memories, laughter, and moments with the people who loved her. Instead, her little boy is now left without his mom, and her parents are facing a heartbreak no parent should ever have to feel. In an instant, their world changed forever.

They are now left to navigate overwhelming grief while also facing unexpected funeral and medical expenses. During this painful time, we’re asking our community to come together and lift them up with support, compassion, and generosity.
