For Medical Bills

”Life has drastically changed for me since my diagnosis of stage 2 testicular cancer. The cancer spread very quickly from the testicles to my lymph nodes within a span of 3 months. It began with a small twinge of pain in my back and testicles for which I visited a doctor about. I was told it was just an infection and sent home with antibiotics. This quickly progressed to debilitating pain in my entire abdominal and pelvic areas. After two months of dealing with hospital visits, being turned away due to insurance, and waiting weeks for doctor’s appointments, I finally have a team of doctors taking me seriously. I am scheduled for an orchiectomy at the end of January. I will then begin 3-4 rounds of IV chemotherapy. Not being able to work regularly has been the biggest hurdle for me since I am unable to help pay for expensive medical bills. I used to work full-time at my dad’s tire shop, but the pain became too much to continue. I work for Doordash when my body allows me to, but after a few hours I am exhausted. As a kid, I was always active, mentally and physically. I played sports like soccer and swim all through my childhood while staying active in my imagination, building small worlds and drawing whatever came to mind. What keeps me moving forward is faith, family, and my caring girlfriend. Without God and the people around me, I could not get through this difficult time on my own. I am currently studying graphic design and another one of my biggest setbacks has been having to take the semester off school. I will no longer graduate with my classmates that I have spent the last 3 years with. I am disappointed and a little bored without being able to work or study, but I keep myself occupied with building LEGO sets, Dungeons & Dragons, and art. My biggest life goal is to work to as a graphic designer where I can do something I love and also repay those who have supported me on my journey.”
