Rallying Around Our Friend Nancy Dodge
We’re reaching out to ask for your help in supporting one of our dearest friends, Nancy. Known for her unwavering kindness & compassion.
Nancy is one of the strongest people we know. And over the past few years, she has faced a series of medical challenges with grace, grit, and quiet determination.
But now, she truly needs our help!
In March 2024, Nancy had rotator cuff surgery on her non-dominant shoulder. Just one year after enduring the same painful recovery on her dominant side. As with the first surgery, her second shoulder froze, requiring another procedure last fall, followed by just more physical therapy.
For nearly four years, Nancy has been in and out of PT, working hard just to regain basic function and mobility.
Then in January 2025, a routine mammogram revealed an abnormality. After additional screenings, an inconclusive biopsy, and then a lumpectomy, Nancy received the heartbreaking news in April, that it was cancer.
Since then, she has undergone a second lumpectomy (which still showed cancerous tissue) followed by a full mastectomy on June 3rd.
Complications prolonged her hospital stay, and shortly afterward, she learned that the tissue reserved for reconstruction also tested positive. Her doctors have described her case as “complex and unusual.”
So a fourth surgery was required to remove additional tissue—and tragically, resulted in a stroke.
This has now left Nancy with a loss of motor function on her dominant left side.
She has spent the past couple of weeks in rehabilitation, and is now facing further surgeries, more recovery time, and a great deal of uncertainty. She will be out of work for much longer than expected.
We’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease the growing financial burden of Nancy’s medical treatments, rehabilitation, and basic recovery needs. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. And if you’re not in a position to give~ your thoughts, prayers, and emotional support mean just as much.
Thank you for keeping Nancy in your heart and for showing up for her in this incredibly difficult time. We want to do all we can to lift her up.
With gratitude, love, and heartfelt thanks❤️
